Green Tone Bits: Session #15 (Double-Sided Special)
Monday, June 14th, 2010

The fifteenth Green Tone Bits session is just a few days away.
Double yay!
Mark your calendars: Friday, 18 June 2010, from 22:30 to 02:00 GMT and… Saturday, 19 June 2010, from 18:00 to 20:00 GMT.
Mark your calendars: Saturday, 19 June 2010, from 18:30 to 20:00 GMT and… from 22:30 to 02:00 GMT.
This session is yet another special event: like those cool vinyl records, it’s a double-sided session. Also, unlike the previous sessions, this one won’t take place on a Friday, but on a Saturday.
So, to sum up: there will be two sessions on June 19.
A-Side will be a shorter session, taking place at Projecto no.1. And before you ask…
“Project no.1 is an temporary artistic laboratory that aims to simultaneously integrate a workspace , cultural manifestations and also a experimental bakery.”
We were kindly invited to provide the soundtrack to the colour+food experience (an artistic experience based on food and food colouring - and you can expect green-coloured food, of course), part of the Experimental Bakery of Projecto no.1.
Projecto no.1 is located at Rua da Atalaia 31, 1200-037, Lisbon [map] - former place of the Lisbon Lomography Embassy, right in the heart of Bairro Alto.
B-Side will be taking place at Ogâmico [map], our headquarters, starting at 22:30.
As usual, both sessions will be streamed to the website (and you can listen to the sets live) and we’ll load your mp3 player with the previous sessions’ playlist at both events as well.
With a double-sided session, you have even fewer excuses to miss it! See you soon!

Session #14 Recap
Sunday, June 13th, 2010
Blips, blops and pixel blocks - that’s session #14 in a sentence right there.
Like we said before, session #14 was all about chiptune music. Still, there was room for lots of different moods: there were rock-infused 8-bit tunes, some seriously dancefloor friendly tracks and über cool cover versions (Blondie, Foals and even some old videogame classics such as Tetris, Sonic and Zelda).
We had a full house and the atmosphere was great. As promised, there were old NES games hooked up to a projector - and, with some geekery, the games were played with a pair of sleek Nintendo Wii controllers. Good times!
So go ahead and download session’s #14 playlist - and quench your 8-bit thirst. 60 songs, more than three and a half hours of chiptune music - it will surely be enough to make you want to jump over mushrooms, eat some Pac-dots and rescue the princess.

Green Tone Bits: Session #14 (Chiptune Special)
Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

The fourteenth Green Tone Bits session is just a few days away. Power-up!
Mark your calendars: Friday, 28 May 2010, from 22:30 to 02:00 GMT.
Session #14 will be one of a kind - it will be totally dedicated to a more specific genre that has already been featured in pretty much all the playlists since our first session.
*drum roll*
Chiptune: 8-bit, Bitpop, Nintendocore, Picopop, Micromusic… That’s what Session #14 will be all about.
We’ll be paying tribute to classic video games - and to all artists (bands, musicians, etc.) who were inspired by them to create awesome, memorable tracks.
As a bonus (pun intended), there will be a couple of classic video games setup at Ogâmico [map] - the usual place - for you to play. Do you remember Super Mario Bros., Pac-Man or Tetris on a Nintendo console?
Dress code? 8-bit Tie optional, of course.
As usual, we will be loading our previous sessions’ playlists to your MP3 player, if you want to (iPod, pen drive or anything in between).
If you really can’t warp yourself (again, pun intended) to Ogâmico, listen to the live streaming of the DJ set, right here on the website.
See you there!

Session #13 Recap
Monday, May 24th, 2010
The recap of our previous session is late, but not forgotten. Please be assured we haven’t been sipping piña coladas by the beach (sadly!), but have been very busy (among other things, venturing into the dark corners of the interwebs in search of the best free music so you can enjoy it).
We are always considering doing “theme sessions”, and session #13 was already based on more specific moods and genres: ambient, jazzy, glitch, micro-house and minimal techno. A different selection than you are used to listen to from us, but still loads of fresh and top quality tunes.
